A preschooler's homemade lunch was inspected and replaced with cafeteria chicken nuggets. The child's lunch was deemed to be unhealthy and did not meet the USDA Food Pyramid (MyPlate) requirements. The family thinks that they should not have been charged for the school girl's chicken nugget lunch since they provided her with a homemade lunch. The lunch that she brought that was determined to be unhealthy by the State consisted of: a turkey and cheese sandwich, banana, chips and apple juice. The school cafeteria served her three chicken nuggets instead. The issue is what gives the state the power over you to force you to eat what they determine is healthy? What was wrong with the lunch that the child brought to school? The control over what you must eat and can't eat starts at a preschooler's school, but where does it end? Should a school have the authority to search and seize your child's lunch and replace it with their own highly processed food in the name of good health?
